We hired Kevin to cater the repast after my father’s funeral. The repast package was the perfect amount/variety of food for a great price! The food was great and the African rice was a hit. My picky daughter really liked it. Kevin was very professional and sincere from the first time I talked to him on the phone. I loved that they set up, provided table linens, plates, utensils, cups, napkins, served the food and did the cleanup. (Note: you have to provide your own desserts). They even provided to-go containers for guests to take food with them. Even after that there was food left over and with our permission he took it to a place where they could feed the unhoused. I highly recommend Butter’s Soul Food if you’re looking for someone cater your repast. They handled it all so you don’t have
I wanted to give this place a shot. It fell very short of my expectations. Its a B.O.B so yes I wanted to support. My ribs were all burnt. To the bone of 2 of the 3 ribs they gave me which were the small end of the rack. My greens were ok but alot of stems not enough green. Candied yams were good. Mac and cheese was Sub par dry and alittle crispy aroundcthe edge.We were the first customers of the day. How did I get burnt ribs, the small end like that was all that was left to give us that goes for the greens and Mac and cheese too. If it was not for the fact that we drove across town on lunch hour to get this I would return it for a refund. So I am forced to just eat whats edible and chalk it up. At this point I would not recommend this place to eat from. Please step your game up and give
The ambiance at Butter's was relaxing, welcoming and nostalgic, wonderful! The service was accomodating, nice and courteous. The food was just ok. We had the turkey wings, mac/cheese, collard greens and chicken wings. The rich flavors one anticipates in soul food was missing. Many of the items on the menu weren't available. However, it was explained that they'd been closed for 3-days.
Butter's was our choice for New Year's fare: catfish and tilapia, collards and cabbage, hoppin john and cornbread, and an extra side of lima beans for me. All of it was well seasoned, plentiful (well, maybe not the cornbread), and tasty. Our order was ready when we arrived and Benjamin was prompt and friendly behind the counter. Sending best wishes to Butter's for a prosperous 2026!
food seasoning was too salty & overall food was a 4 out of 10 drove an hour away they didnt have turkey wings nor certain things on menu!! very disappointed we end up getting fish which it was not good greens taste like it wasnt doge & yams taste like it wasnt home made!
