This was our first visit to Byrd & Barrel. The Mother Clucker was crispy, thick, and fresh. It was delicious. Loved the provel cheese sauce and the pepper jelly. The addition of the Red Hot Riplet chips was the crunch and flavor profile needed to bring it all together. Great flavors! The cons: price. $14 for just the sandwich was on the pricey side in my opinion. The Poutine was phenomenal. I chose the chicken gravy over the mushroom gravy. The fries were extremely crispy yet still soft in the center. The fries stayed mostly crispy even under the chicken gravy and the gooey provel cheese sauce. The combination of the fries, gravy, and cheese topped with their crispy fried chicken chunks made for pure food magic! The cons: none. At $10, I found it to be a good-sized portion at a very reaso

Possibly ranks in the top 3 fried chickens I’ve ever had. The meat was perfectly juicy and tender, well flavored, and crispy on the outside. Coleslaw was crunchy and creamy. We also got the roasted cauliflower and mac & cheese which were good but not as distinctive. The mac is perhaps a little too cheesy/wet, cauliflower was generous and helps make the meal feel a little healthier.

✨ The Kool-Aid pickles? Totally delicious, so sweet, tangy, and sour! 🍟 The fries were crispy, golden, crunchy, and absolutely amazing. 🍗 The chicken bites weren’t really my cup of tea, but my friend’s sandwich was a hit. She was raving about it. 👯‍♀️ For big groups, seating can be a bit of a squeeze, there’s basically just one table for a larger group. We had to shove two together and ended up a little snug. 🐔 Still, if you’re a chicken fan, this place is definitely a must try!

Do NOT order the Sunday Sandwich. $12 for a frozen chicken patty on a bun is just complete and utter bullshit. You can't market this as a "pickle brined fried chicken breast sandwich" and then serve this. This is a $5 kids sandwich at best. Still giving 3 stars because the Motherclucker and Nashville Hot sandwiches are absolutely delicious.

Moving reviews off of Yelp. This was originally published in 2017: Second visit was far more enjoyable than the first. Fried chicken is what they do and they do it pretty darn well. I had lunch with a coworker recently and we were having trouble deciding what to get until the waiter offered to split a couple of things for us. Consequently, we wound up with a half-chicken and a Mother Clucker sandwich. Half chicken is a half chicken is a half chicken...except when it sucks. Fortunately, the one they served us didn't suck. It was actually the opposite of suck. Hot, juicy, flavorful, crispy - all at once. Sure it's not as spicy as some would like but you can fix that with stuff sitting on the table. I was really impressed. I thought it would be my favorite between the two. It wasn't. My
