Byron Lake Pool

Renovations are beautiful. Kids loved the pool and splash pad. Will absolutely return over the summer. Can absolutely be a 5 out of 5 when the concessions open (or a food truck which was mentioned would be there until then). Also splash pad area seemed like the water wasn’t turned all the way up so everything was either half spraying or almost nothing at all. Hopefully these get fixed. Update. Went the other day and the concession stand is now open.

They look amazing and my son already attends summer camp there, which he really enjoys. However, we decided to stay and use the pool after camp one day and arrived around 5 PM. We were surprised to be charged full price for both of us—including my son, who had already been there all day for camp. It felt unfair, considering he’s already a camper and we were only planning to stay a short while. I hope they consider offering a reduced rate or some flexibility for camp families who want to enjoy the pool after hours.

2 pools and a slide. Ample space to sit and relax. Nice section to eat. Decent concession stand. Best time to come in the summer is on a weekday. Weekends come early. It tends to get packed on a hot day.

The renovations are great and it came out beautiful. My son enjoyed it so much.

it’s unbelievable that folks that hold Town of Islip Recreation cards + pool pass can’t bring guests, even at a discounted rate or a limited number of passes per season. I was visiting my family on LI after moving out of state and was shocked that I was expected to pay 30 dollars to go to the park while visiting with my mom, who is a card holder + pool pass holder. There is no transparent pricing listed on the website so you don’t really know what you’re getting into until you arrive. One of the many reasons I moved off of LI is BS like this that you don’t encounter anywhere else 🤪
