Cafe California Poppy

Came here with my family for breakfast on New Year’s Eve, the owner was so welcoming she made us feel like we were visiting friends. The food was good and we really enjoyed the light and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping here.

We had such a nice experience here! The owner of the Cafe greeted us warmly and explained the menu and the specialties they offer, which were very well curated! The cafe itself is also immaculate and clean, with a very cool vibe inside to make you feel comfortable. I had the California Poppy Burger; everything was cooked to perfection, juicy beef patty, soft and warm brioche bun and the ingredients were very fresh. The hidden GEM here is the PIZZA! It's true Neapolitan-style, which is very difficult to to find here in the USA. Perfect crust, crispy on the outside and just the right amount of chew for that true Italian experience, and amazing flavor and texture throughout. I stopped by Cafe California Poppy today and had the turkey sandwich with avocado and tomato—it was SO good! Everything tasted super fresh, and the flavors were just perfect. Definitely one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a while. Ester, who helped me, was amazing! She’s so sweet. You can tell she really cares about the customers. This place would be awesome for catering too. The food and service are both incredible. Highly recommend checking it out!

Great food at great prices. You can tell the tomato soup was made with real ripen whole tomatoes, not from a can. My crab meat ravioli was full of real crab meat that you can see and taste. Definitely would go back.

Every time I come to San Diego for work, stopping here is a must. The owner is extremely sweet and attentive to my needs every time. This is a cute little coffee shop that is well worth a visit.
