Cafe on 9th

I went in the afternoon on a Saturday morning, it seems like we got there after a little bit of a rush based on the convos we were hearing. The person that was working was so nice, probably the owner. Brought our drinks (strawberry matcha and the coco caramel latte) and food (egg and cheese, bacon egg and cheese) right to our table. The sandwiches themselves were so good and fresy, but the stars of the show to me were the strawberry matcha and coco caramel latte. We did unfortunately order hashbrowns that we never received but didn't notice until we got home, so hopefully we get to try those in the future. A neighborhood joint I'll definitely be coming back to. My friend took better photos but I only got this one before we ate it all!

Lavender Latte was incredible. Kaiser roll BEC sandwhich delicious and fair priced. Local awesome owners, Justin and Jamal, who should be shown local love and support. Theyre great, I will be back.

I gave 5 stars because I think everyone at this cafe was nice. However, I do have some suggestions as I think it has potential to be great. The place needs some character. Fill the walls with family photos, favorite art, DC memorabilia, or just something that they’re passionate about. Play some fun music or talk radio in the background. Make the seating more communal. Maybe a booth or two to give it a diner feel. These things would make the place stand out and give it life. It’s in the perfect location, and I think these things would just make it feel more desirable. I also think the food was okay, but it came out very slow. Which isn’t a huge deal, but when you’re getting cafe-style food, especially breakfast, coffee should be fast and the food should be coming shortly after. They may no

I’m so glad to have Cafe on 9th right down the street from my house! I recently met the owner, Justin, and he’s such a friendly and welcoming guy. The cafe is still in the process of rolling out some new features, but I’m really happy that he opened with what he has so far. It’s a clean and tidy space with a nice selection of seating—whether you want to relax inside or grab your food and drink to go, there’s plenty of options. The menu is diverse, offering something for everyone, and the hours are great too (7 AM - 6 PM every day). I’m excited to see how the space evolves, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try more items from the menu. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

We stumbled upon this Cafe while looking to have breakfast in the vicinity. Met Justin the owner and chef, and his brother Jamal who was helping out for the day. Breakfast was made fresh and you could tell every dish was made with care. We absolutely loved the pancakes, and my husband who is a coffee lover was impressed with their latte. Service was excellent and very welcoming atmosphere. Justin shared with us that they are approaching their first anniversary and I’m so incredibly happy to have supported his small business during our visit to DC. I’ll be sure to go back for a cozy breakfast next time we are in the area.
