Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

Cafe Rio...it's so hot right now! In a world where most fast-casual spots are trying to gently, politely, and relentlessly extract $15 from you for a very average lunch… Cafe Rio is out here bringing back the sub-$10 meal like it’s 2012. And I respect it. Recently they’ve had deals like 2 meals for $20 and a $7 combo with two tacos and a drink. Seven dollars for real food with fresh ingredients. Didn't know that was still something corporations were willing to do. The food quality punches way above the price point. Fresh tortillas, generous portions, solid protein, and ingredients that don’t taste like they came from a corporate food lab. When food this high quality is available at that kind of price, it genuinely makes me happy. Good service at this location in particular too. Today

I got the chicken salad, my kids got sweet pork burritos. The chicken was so salty and incredibly over seasoned, each bite was like a mouth full of salty spice. Th dressing lacked any type of flavor theat tomatatillo ranch should have, just ranch and spicy. Lettuce was fresh but the tortilla tasted old and dry. The sweet pork just tasted like straigght sugar. All that and it costs $60 for 2 salads and 2 burritos. Not a great value. The employees were good and friendly though.

I am a big fan of Cafe Rio but this location unfortunately didn’t meet my expectations. Customer service was poor as well as the overall kitchen and dine in area was dirty. The place and location definitely has potential to be great tho!

4 stars for being disappointed on their new item on the menu Beef Birria. First of all- it was delicious! Second - I was told it would come two pieces and I got home having one piece for about $6 with rice and beens. Not sure what the display price is , but it was not what it said. I also got a sweet pork barbacoa which I usually get. The guys there were very nice , it didn’t seem busy and I was in and out in less than 5 minutes.
