Cafe Babette is operating at a level that deserves real recognition. Their commitment to craft is undeniable. They specialize in croissants, but their creativity runs far beyond that. From crab rangoon and pineapple sticky rice croissants to matcha morning buns, Basque cheesecake, tiramisu cups, and an incredible Matilda cake, the execution is both thoughtful and bold. The miso caramel brownie cookie alone is worth the visit. They’ve also expanded their beverage program with a slushy machine featuring cold brew and fruit-based drinks that are just as intentional as their pastries. Café Babette has some of the best pastries I have ever had. This is NYC-level quality, complexity, and flavor. Everything is so thoughtful and well-executed. Every time you visit, there is something new to try, from sweet to savory. Everything I have gotten here has been excellent. Favorites include the crab Rangoon croissant, gooey butter cake croissant cup, and the scones are next-level. I’ve never done the preorder process because I love the thrill of waiting in line before they open. Make sure to arrive early and wait in line! It is literally my favorite experience to hear what they have to offer and pick what sounds good in the moment.

My wife and I picked up our pre-order on Saturday, and decided to stand in line to purchase pastries we hadn't purchased online. The line was orderly, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Wow. Our family is impressed with the quality and taste of all the savory and sweet croissants, cookies and cakes we purchased. The best tasting croissants outside of New York City, Quebec and Paris because they were both flaky and tender. Truly a mom and pop shop that has perfected the croissants. Very well worth the visit and continued business.

Heard this bakery was good & drove 2 hours from Louisville to get there right at open…. big mistake. They open at 10:30 on Saturdays, we got there at 10:40 & joined the line before they even opened the doors. Before opening the doors they made an announcement to everyone in line that the order time was only “2 minutes.” Stood and waited for over TWO HOURS. We were walking out by 12:45. I cannot stress how much I HIGHLY RECOMMEND preordering. Everyone who preorders gets to walk right in & pick up their order & crazily enough, they’ll even let you add more items to your preorder!! Despite people standing in line for 2 hours!! Extremely backwards way to run a business. They need more employees and organization. The most phenomenal pastries, and always a different menu. Get on the preorder if you can - if not, expect a wait but it’s 100% worth every second. Sweet and savory options, all of which will blow your mind. Absolutely perfect.
