The vibe and ambiance is absolutely amazing. The service was wonderful and I enjoyed our drinks. The sorrel drink was authentically delicious. Food is well plated, I particularly enjoyed the choice and kelewele. I was disappointed in the taste of the Easley and stew, and my friend didn’t enjoy the jollof as she hoped. We had some takeaway food as well and unfortunately it didn’t taste as great. I was BUMMED!!!!!!!!!! Would I come again for food no lol maybe I’ll order chiofi only.
Went with my sister since the both of us were itching to try West African cuisine for the first time and this place exceeds our expectations! We arrived a little after opening time and we were promptly seated right away. The restaurant was very warm and inviting (loved the green decor!) and even the tables, chair, and booths were luxurious. Just a heads up, if you’re sitting at the booth, the seats are positioned a little higher than the table—my sister had to practically slouch to eat her food. The server was incredibly kind to us and did an amazing job giving us a great first experience at this restaurant. We ordered the suya, egusi with chicken and fufu, and the jollof rice with fish. The dishes came quickly and the size each dish was decently portioned. The suya and egusi were our favo
I had the pleasure of eating lunch today with my colleagues at calabash. This was my first time at calabash and it probably will not be my last time just off of the vibes and the food. To keep it simple I had the spicy suya and my entree was the peanut soup with fish and white rice. The suya was not spicy but the staff gave me some pepper to have on the side. Great service, very attentive and so fun. If you’re ever looking for good west African/ Ghanaian to be specific food be sure to check out calabash you will NOT be disappointed.
After going to the Continent in DC and having mediocre hugh priced food my Ghana friend told me about this spot. This was absolutely delicious and soo much better then the DC spot! Highly recommend them!
This place is a hit or miss because it’s either open or closed, but you never know until you get there and they usually out of plantains. The food is really good though, on the pricy side but that’s African food in the dmv for you 🤷🏾♀️
