The Fremont outlet is awesome. Excellent food. Only let down is the Peas Kochuri, which turned out more to be a Kulcha. The chholar daal was amazing. Exactly like homemade food. But the Mutton kosha, Goat Biriyani, and rhe Egg chicken role were simply amazing.

I’m so happy there’s finally a place that sells truly authentic Bengali-style snacks! I got to try my beloved fuchka after so long, and it tasted just like home, absolutely authentic and delicious. The prices are super reasonable too, under $7 a plate, which is amazing for the quality and quantity. We also tried the samosa chaat platter, and it was incredible, perfectly balanced sweet and tangy flavors with that crunchy samosa topping. It’s such a generous portion that even two people would have a hard time finishing it! Overall, this place brought back so many good memories, I can’t wait to come back and try more items from their menu!

The name, Chaat & Bakery, suggests a focus on bakery items, but it actually offers a mix of Calcutta street food, Indo-Chinese dishes, and classic Indian staples. The bakery section mainly features puffs and a few sweets, but they didn’t look very fresh. We started with the Puchka/Pani Puri, which was really good. The Veg/Chicken Manchow soups were tasty, though a bit heavy on the sauces. When I saw the American Choupsey, I instantly wanted to try it, and it tasted perfect - though the noodles softened up quickly. They should’ve preferred mixing noodles and gravy little later to keep the crispness.
