Capistran Tortillas & Bar-B-Q

My family has been buying Capistran barbacoa since the late 80s. Horacio is an outstanding gentleman and an amazing business man. His work ethic and professionalism really shows in the quality of his food. When I travel out of town, I take his barbacoa to my friends and family because Capistran is as Brownsville as it gets! The people who make the BBQ, tortillas and tostadas, really know what they are doing. Don't change a thing Mr. Horacio

Most horrible experience with this place. I am actually very disappointed. I was eating barbacoa purchased at this place when I chewed a piece of wire. This is unbelievable. I don't even want to think about the severity of my health had I actually eaten the wire with the barbacoa. I'm so disgusted. I Demand a refund! I was having second thoughts about posting anything; but this can happen to someone else.

Over all this place is phenomenal, try to deal with the owner he is the best, he cares and treats customers well. Unfortunately some of those ladies he has working for him are not, they are very short with words and at times not even talk to you while you wait. The whole experience for me got a 5 star because of the owner!!!

This is the ONLY place I get barbacoa, tortillas (flour & corn) and of course, salsa, both green and red.

Kind of funny that a lot of the negative reviews here were because of wait times.. So if anything that should say it all for you.. There is a wait... Because it's that good.. hands down best tortillas in our city. Even a certain james beard award winning bbcoa place uses them as well... Yes the bbcoa in general in our area is pretty greasy... But stick to an order of cachete and you really can't go wrong.
