Customer Reviews
If you’re looking for a delicious, clean, beautiful, and fresh sushi, Japanese, and Korean style lunch or dinner spot then look no further! This restaurant checks every box and should have an extra box for never being too crowded. Carmel Sushi really has a fresh and stunning, fully elevated ambiance and vibe. Other than that, they have the same wildly fresh and expansive menu and lunch specials we have always loved. Not to mention my super picky family that were all able to not only find but love the food they chose. You’ll never regret a meal here.
Very unique place. The food is awesome. Huge competition between the owner (Kay) and staff as who would attend the guests better! Service is none stop. The place is extremely clean. The menu section is so so wide, it'll take sometime to decide and frankly you might as well point to any item and take the chance with zero risk!
Pay attention everyone. THIS is how you operate a sushi restaurant. We were greeted by the sushi chefs from across the room as we entered the front door. Seconds later, the wait staff guided us to a table. Water arrived lickity split, and our waitress patiently checked on us a couple of times until we were ready to order. Miso soup and a side salad came with our entrees; they came out quickly and were delicious. The sushi didn’t take long, either. Before we knew it, our plates were empty and the owner herself came by to see how we enjoyed our meal. And we weren’t big spenders like the table next to us, but we were treated as if we were. This is how you run a restaurant. It’s really not a high bar, but it’s astonishing how so few restaurants “get it.”
Great quality and fresh. I really loved how they serve sashimi with the fresh wasabi. Will be back.
Very very slow service. We ate here on a Sunday. The restaurant was around 20% full at the time we came in around 1:15. It was painfully slow. It took them maybe 20 minutes to take the order. One miso soup came out after another 20 min (though we ordered two). It took more than an hour to get the 3 rolls we ordered (and the third came 10 minutes later). During that time, there were at least five to-go orders that filled, as well as a table that came well after us served before. They apologized several times but it was beyond painful. My little glass of water was empty most of the time. The food was OK though the Ponzu sauce was missing on one of my items. The older woman working there at one point blamed the waitress for being new but if you look at the reviews this has been happening for
