Carmen's Italian Ice

We come to Carmens regularly...and there is a reason for that...its fabulous! We love the gelati (ice with custard for those non Jersey types). The line moves fairly quickly and it's not overly expensive for a summer time treat. We typically get smalls and for the 4 of us, its less than $25. There are several locations. The Rockville location can be fairly busy, but the Olney location is generally much quieter, so if you are between the stores, this one may be a better option. Enjoy!

This place was a great discovery for us, as we found it on accident after a youth soccer game. LOTS of flavor options and types of treats, too. Our family got ice cream, dairy free ice cream, and a couple different falvored Italian ices (you can even mix and match flavors, which the kids enjoyed), and we all enjoyed our choices immensely. There was still Gelati, milkshakes, frozen custard, and Jersey pos to choose from on the cold side as well as several other warm snack options (pretzel bites, and funnel fries, for instance). This is a great place with delicious - and abundant - offerings. There's something to fit everyone's taste. Do yourself a favor and go!

Holy cow this place is good! I have built friendships with almost all of the workers there. Great quick service. In my opinion, the gelatis is the best item there. There are many options for ice flavors, and there are also options for vegan/non dairy people. They also have a "name of the day" where if it's your name, you get a gelati for a great deal. Overall amazing.

They have added 2 vegan custard flavors! I had coconut with mango ice and my only issue was that a medium was more than I wanted!

So good! We've tried several flavors of Italian Ice and the margarita my personal favorite. Everyone loves the custard, salted caramel, Nutella and of course chocolate are all amazing. This photo is of a warm fall gelati with warm chocolate brownie in the middle of two layers of custard. The Jersey Shore Mocha shake is also delicious, with chocolate Italian Ice, vanilla custard and espresso. The kids jump for joy when we say we're going to Carmen's!
