5/5 all around - delicious food, amazing service, & a chic yet cozy ambiance. Carne y Hueso (“meat & bone”) is still a fairly new restaurant that opened end of 2025 - I believe our server said it’s been open for only about 4 months. My husband & I brought our out-of-town visitors here last Friday night for dinner. I was able to secure an earlier 5:30pm reservation slot for 4 people, so we were the first ones there when we arrived. Ambiance: Although not a super large restaurant, which I actually prefer, the space had several seating options including booths, standard tables, bar seating, and some patio seating. Modern & sleek aesthetics with many stone accents that I loved! Moody ambiance once it got darker; quiet enough to converse & hear each other (some street noise but that’s a given
An absolute gem – one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere wrapped around us like a warm hug: intimate, cozy, and effortlessly charming. It felt less like a restaurant and more like a carefully curated experience you never want to end. The food? Extraordinary doesn’t even cover it. Every single dish was exceptional – creative, balanced, and bursting with flavor. Nothing felt gimmicky; each ingredient clearly had a purpose and elevated the plate. We ordered across the menu and every course blew us away. I’m still thinking about the flavors days later. The drinks were just as impressive – inventive, perfectly executed, and some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. What truly set this place apart, though, was the service. The staff were wa
Carne & Hueso is such a gem in North Park. The atmosphere is cozy but elevated, perfect for a nice dinner or a special night out. Every dish we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The flavors were bold, well-balanced, and everything tasted super fresh. The service was also on point — attentive without being overwhelming. You can really feel the passion behind this place. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, great vibes, and an overall amazing dining experience.
For two people we got: 3 drinks, 4 plates total for $130+tax+tip. Def a fancy dinner but i think its very worth it for us for a nice occasion. Fresh, tasty and beautiful Mexican food. --- I appreciate that our waitress told us about the chefs background being from Mexico, the ways he prepares the meals and his specialty being tapas. She even told us anout the catch of the day before we even asked. They really seem to care a lot about the food quality and the experience. The catch of the day was my boyfriend favorite (Stripped Bass) and mine was the Huitlacoche Tetela. ----- The food Catch of the Day: fresh high quality fish, not dry, fleah falls apart, and the skin on top is nice and crispy. Huitlacoche Tetela: the red mole flavor and oyster mushrooms are the standout! Warm and comfor
15/10 - definitely recommend! Carne & Hueso might be the next best restaurant in San Diego!! Jose made our experience really amazing. They opened a month ago and they are already serving some of the best upscale mexican food out there! The restaurant reminds me of Mexico city restaurants We loved everything. Dishes we ordered and definitely recommend are - aguachile negro, octopus tostada, bone marrow sopes, rack of lamb. Aguachile negro was perfect with the citrusy notes and squid ink to give that deep black color to the sauce. Octopus tostada was the best dish we had there - it had a mussel paste at the bottom which just made it so creamy! Must try - Bonemarrow sopes (not to be confused with sopas/soup). Rack of lamb was perfection too Dateil financier was really well done - not too
