Carnitas El Taste Foothills

My Suegra said this was the best carnitas in town, so that was good enough for me to check them out. Don't just drive by thinking it is a BBQ joint. I stopped by to see if they sold carnitas by the pound. Friendly service, when she recognized that I was new (and near closing) she reccomended I get the family pack, which was 2 lbs of meat, rice and beans for less than just the meat. So I got that and did not regret it one bit. To go orders only for the last half hour, and I am definitely coming back!

The best Carnitas I have ever had. Highly recommend. The day we were dining it was buy one and get 50% off second! 2 very filling dinners and 2 michaladas $38.

This was another taco shop that was recommended to me by a coworker. If I were to guess the type of food that was served based upon the outside of the restaurant, then I would’ve guessed that it was a BBQ restaurant. The BBQ vibe changed as soon as I walked through the doors. The inside is much more colorful and decorated as you might expect a modern taco shop would be. I went to Carnitas El Taste on a Saturday for an early takeout lunch. They were just finishing up making the fresh tortillas for the day while I was ordering. I talked to the person making the tortillas and he said that they will make 900 tortillas per day in the slow season. We love this place! Our family usually orders to go, but I took the kids for lunch and we ate inside. It was such a nice experience, we will definitely make this a more often outing. The waitress was super nice and very attentive. The salsa that came out with the chips was amazing, and I’m picky on my salsa! I love spicy and this one had great flavor and some bite as well. The torta meal was a great deal and my kids and I loved every bite. My picky eater ate her whole tostada as well! Everything was great! They have a family meal deal that you can order and it comes with everything to make carnitas tacos at home, (This is what we usually get) and it’s a great deal for when you just don’t feel like cooking but don’t want junk fast food. This place is legit! Don’t be fooled by the “hole in the wall” look outside. These are some of the best tacos that I have ever had. Heavy on the meat and homemade corn tortillas. The inside is also very welcoming and clean. The design and artwork inside complements the food nicey! Kudos to the chef, wait staff, and owners! Truly well done.
