CATCH SEAFOOD BAR & GRILL

This place was yummy. We made a reservation but it took long to get seated and orders going. However, the staff were trying their best to make sure we were comfortable by offering us water while we wait for our seats and offering us more bread as we waited for our mains. It is very loud inside but I think that’s just how lively the crowd is! The seafood pasta was very yummy. It was just a bit too salty. The scallops were delicious and veggies were so fresh.

We spoke to a local who suggested this place and we were so happy with the suggestion. We sat at the bar and were able to watch the chefs making our delicious food. I had never tried pan fried calamari and the chef gave me a generous sample. I was so impressed I will never have deep fried calamari again. We plan on coming back again the next time we visit Paso.

I hate to write a negative review, specially a long one but if no one’s willing to share their experiences, we have a 5 star food and service reviews from everywhere which is not fair for people visiting Paso First of all the Waitress did not know which fish was farmed , wild , or previously frozen. Secondly the wine menu was very limited considering you are in Paso , offering Only 5 red selection by the glass which they were out of 2 of them already . As for food : the Fish was broiled with vegetables, absolutely had no taste . We asked for , olive oil which did not taste or smell like olive oil “ was either a blend or vegetable oil , lemon , salt and pepper so we can add a bid of tastes. . if you are looking for great fish experience, this is definitely not the place . I've been to France many times and this escargot beats it! Fantastic flavors. I went with the swordfish special and my goodness amazing. Potatoes were crispy on the outside with the perfect softness inside. Swordfish was perfectly cooked and served with the shrimp scampi sauce (not a heavy dish!). All paired with seasonal vegetables that were lightly salted and peppered. With a glass (or two) of local wine, you're looking at your next favorite restaurant. I will be back and I cannot wait. Fresh and tasty seafood at this local restaurant located in the heart of Paso Robles close to shops and theater. It has extensive menu and daily catch specials. Reservations for parties of 4 or more are recommended as it is not too big with seating for approximately 45 people. The counter is the spot to sit if you are a couple or dining by yourself as you have front row view of all the cooking activities. The staff is friendly but quite stretched and busy at peak hours.
