Cellarmaker Brewing Co.

These folks do a decent spread of Beers! They seem more IPA centric.. but do smatter in a collection of Darker beers and have seasonal offerings. I DO wish they had some cheaper pub fair food.. like a soft salted pretzel, tots or something, but their pizzas are quite good.. but pricy (for me at least). I really do like the large indoor space they have and the outdoor beer garden is quite nice when the weather is good.

Great venue, great beer. This is the old Rare Barrel location cellermaker acquired after they could no longer stay afloat, thankfully, and thankfully they kept the Rare Barrel sours as they were originally made (and production staff). Great acquisition, doing the right thing for the beer scene, feels good to support them. Had a variety of sour beers, they come bottled, and was very satisfied with them all, and equally impressed by the extensive knowledge of the staff about tasting notes, varieties and how they apply to the beers they had to offer - all advice was on point. I've been to to many breweries where you ask a question about the beer/style/flavor and are obtusely met with a statement like, "it's an IPA" or "it's a sour", so this was a refreshing instance of being able to talk beer

Pinball and basketball arcade game and meatballs and space. This is the better location to me, much more chill.

I haven't been to this Cellarmaker in Berkeley since the switch from the closing of The Rare Barrel. The space is still large and open, but there are a few added touches. They have a claw machine and pinball machine. The back area where bottle pickups used to be, now has seating for added seating for guests. They offered some NA beers and they still serve other guest taps besides their own. They are also still pouring some Rare Barrel sours. The beertenders were all friendly and paid attention to detail. Three of us went to grab some pizza and a pint. The pizza at Cellarmaker is great. I didn't know they offered a gluten free version which my wife was happy about. So we opted to try both pies gluten free. We got the Pep and the Mortadella & Potato. I must say they have great GF crust which

Tucked away a bit off the beaten path in Southwest Berkeley, Cellarmaker is one of the gems of Bay Area brewing. IPAs are a specialty here and they are all interesting and consistently delicious, no matter what is on tap. Other great options include the Coffee & Cigarettes porter, plus really interesting barrel aged and sour beers from the Rare Barrel. Pizza and other bar snacks/appetizers are very tasty, and the space is very chill and laid back, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The only negative I can think of is that they aren’t open 7 days a week!
