Chapala Mexican Restaurant

When I got to Chapala I was not sure what to expect. The place looks new and is very clean. Not the hole in the wall spots I am used to: There were some of my favorites like a seafood molcajete, Mojarra frita, and tacos de tripa. So we decided on those items except the Mojarra was a la diabla. As a spicy food lover with most places not at all touching my spice limits the Mojarra was the best I've ever had. The tacos de tripa were very good but with the red sauce on the side there a complexity of flavors I have never tasted for such a simple dish. The seafood molcajete was yet another homerun. The sauces here are one of a kind. They are rich, savory, and spicy. I will be coming back again… and again… and again. I recently dined at this new Mexican restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a vibrant yet cozy ambiance that made for the perfect dining setting. The food was absolutely delicious—starting with the fresh, crispy chips and flavorful salsa that had just the right amount of kick. I ordered the molcajete, and it was a showstopper! The sizzling mix of meats, vegetables, and rich, savory sauce was packed with bold flavors and served in a traditional stone bowl that kept everything hot and delicious. We had an amazing experience. We were warmly greeted and told we could sit wherever we wanted. Immediately received chios, salsa and water. They took our drink orders and the margaritas are delicious. My wife had the shrimp caldo and I had the Diablo shrimp. Both were fantastic. The decor is well done and all of the employees were great. We were thrilled with the cleanliness too. We'll be back.

Food was amazing, the service was great. The server Cesar gave us great recommendations, even was able to change a little of the spices for my sister on the mole. The molcajete was delicious and everything was made to order. Will definitely be returning.

This morning, we visited Chapa for a quick cocktail before going to the theater. The atmosphere was ideal, and our server, Leah, was incredibly attentive and kind. Our children loved the complimentary dessert; it was fantastic. It was such a wonderful experience that we came back for lunch after the show. I would rate it 10 out of 10.
