CHAVELITA'S RESTAURANT AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD

Seems like mostly a take out place but nice music playing when we ate in. Water/drinks were bottled so be aware if you are expecting tap. The sauces for the chips were rly fresh and I loved my enchiladas!

Stop by this family establishment while visiting friends near the area. The tacos were authentic and tasted amazing. Since there were 4 of us we just opted for the 30 tacos plate. This place opened in January and the family who runs it is very sweet. Would definitely recommend this place to people visiting or local to the area. It is slightly hard to find because it is on a corner and it isn’t a be try large place but it was well worth the trip.

I’ve driven past this recently opened restaurant at least a dozen times and have wanted to stop in. Today I had the chance to go and give it a shot. This little spot had a nice interior design with a cool painted mural that stood out to me. I ordered the carnitas tacos and guacamole to go and the order was done in under 10 minutes. The carnitas were light, juice and very tender, topped with fresh cilantro and onions and wrapped in two corn tortillas. There were 4 tacos total, which were a good portion size, and came with two salsa that were hot and had a nice kick to them. The tacos and salsa came out to $15. The guacamole was definitely fresh and made right to order. By far both items were 1000 times better than any chain Mexican restaurant and up there with any authentic Mexican spot.

Been meaning to try this place. Tried the al pastor tacos from here for lunch. Oh my god, incredible. Definitely the best Mexican food spot in the area. The 2 salsas, I believe it was the chipotle Salsa con crema y Salsa verde, was amazing. I have never left a review before Lol, but felt it was necessary for this place.

the service was quite poor today, i asked for one order of tacos and a side of cactus but the waitress brought out two orders of tacos for me and when i pointed it out to her, she essentially told me that i said i ordered two taco dishes (not true) and rudely doubled down on it. i kindly asked if i could still get my side of cactus and she just snatched the extra taco dish back and never returned with the cactus side (nor did she check up on us again afterwards) on top of that, it’s not well disclosed on their specials chalkboard that the “taco tuesday - 50% off tacos” deal only applies to certain tacos so we were not too happy when we found out on the check that we’d have to pay full price for our tacos, feels a bit sneaky. was very disappointed today as i had a good experience the first
