Checkers

I've been here twice since moving to Virginia and both times there's only been 2 employees in the whole restaurant. I understand why they use a robot to take orders as it seems only 1 of the two speaks fluent English. The first time I came here I made the mistake of going inside the establishment, there's a reason it's always empty. Due to short staffing, I ended up standing there for 5 minutes before getting any attention and I could tell I was holding them up. They tried to be nice about it but they ended up running around while talking to me and I got maybe 2 minutes of direct communication. I'm obviously not going to hold this against them as they were running everything by themselves. If this store has an owner or manager, I've never seen them actually work. As for the food, it was

First time. Went to drive thru. The robot taking our order was annoying, since we had to look over the menu not knowing what we wanted. The robot kept asking what we wanted. It wasn't a real person. We finally decided and placed an order. We pulled up to the window paid and received our order. The sandwich was great! It's off our beaten path but can't wait to go back. Delish!!!

Went to checkers the other week. I ordered the brisket sandwich. The bread was barely toasted. The sandwich was so cold the cheese wasn’t even melted. And yes I did the feedback form with no answer. Wish I knew how to upload photos to show the sandwich!

Food is good. Staff is shy but polite. Bathrooms are always "out of order" but they work fine. They just don't want non-customers using them. They let us use them even though the signs say not to. The floors in the dining area were slippery but it's excusable since it's very snowy out today. Overall not a bad experience but they should rethink their bathroom policy.

I've gone here multiple times after long car rides for vacation. This is an out of state stop for me. This is my go-to place to eat, and my food has always been amazing. The staff are polite too.
