Having long been a lover of khachapouris I couldn't wait to try a restaurant that specializes in them, and Cheeseboat met my every expectation! The host, servers, and bartender were friendly despite its being a busy Saturday, and were very knowledgeable about the menu and Georgian cuisine in general. Beverage-wise, I started with a Marani Brut and wanted another but they had run out so the bartender asked about what I'd ordered and personally recommended an orange wine that ended up being a great pairing. I got the Leek It!, which initially looked to be mostly bread but it had SO MUCH CHEESE inside, making it very good value for the money. The atmosphere is comfortable but lively, and I love the wall murals. I'll be coming back repeatedly to keep working my way through the menu.
In an effort to bypass the wait, we decided on an early dinner for our party of 6. This was my first time at a Georgian restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised at an awesome meal.To start we got a Kartvelian salad, Homemade Hummus, and the Pickled vegetables. I wasn't a fan of the pickled veggies, but that's okay, I don't choose pickled anything hardly ever. We ordered our main course family style, everything shared. We got the Khinkali, Lamb Chakapuli, Steak and Mushroom Cheeseboat, and the Prosciutto Cheeseboat. All tasty but my favorite was the lamb and the steak. For dessert, the six of us shared two Napoleons. Wow, you gotta save room for that. And for drinks we ordered the Georgian Lemonade (pear, tarr, and cream soda). I spent the next few days looking for the Zandukeli pear lemo
Amazing food, atmosphere, and hospitality. We’re from Boston, and our Georgian friend brings us here whenever we’re in NYC. The food is delicious and fresh, and the people who work there are exceptionally kind and hospitable. Highly recommend!
I have tried a few Georgian restaurants in the city. This one is by far the best one. Very cozy atmosphere with delicious food. Khinkalli and kebabs were amazing. I got to test a Cognac with the staff that was recently imported from Georgia. Amazing people, amazing place and amazing food.
Always down to try Georgian food, this time for a quick dinner. The khachapuri (cheeseboat) was average size but tasty. I would say it’s good enough for 2 people if you don’t eat much. The atmosphere is great, so it’s the decor. We were taken to our table really quickly and the server was very attentive. The Georgian soda pear flavor is definitely a must try at any Georgian restaurant.
