Chicopee Department of Public Works

Won’t take my trash even though I was out of town for work. I call for them to take my trash & they refuse to . This has happened in the past but not since the summer. Actually petty & annoying just take my trash. They expect me to wait a whole week again like I don’t have kids so now the trash will be piling up.

What is the deal with are little trash barrel that can barely fit any trash and every other city has real trash barrels . Just another way for Chicopee to still your money buying Chicopee bags .

The Worst Guy got mad cause I called office and came with plow truck trowing sand and knocked my trash on purpose awfull

The people who come and pick up the trash and recycling are awful and it's gotten much worse in the last two years. This week I watched a worker half dump a recycle bin, knock it over while putting it back and left it there while cans and bottles rolled into the street. The icing on the cake was watching him run over bottles on the way back. Our neighborhood is filled with children and someone can get hurt. The garbage men are just as bad. I've seen them pull trash bags that just barely (and I mean barely) don't fit out of the black bins put them on the side and leave them there while they dump the trash bin. I've never seen anything like it in my life and because they work for the city no one cares and complaints fall on deaf ears.

I have neighbors with OVERFLOWING 32 gal barrels of yard waste that get picked up all summer, but they won't take my 45 gal barrel thats not overflowing and barely full. I have multiple neighbors that get their trash picked up and it's overflowing and not in yellow bags, but I can't have my barrel slightly open. I pay enough in taxes to get my trash picked up (without it ending up in the street).
