Chile Rojo Mexican Cuisine

Not a fan. Someone said how great the salsa was but tasted of ketchup. The waitress was nice but seemed distracted. I wanted the guac made at the table and specifically asked for jalapenos in it and after discussing that she brought out pre-made chunky guac that had very little flavor. No jalapenos but they did bring out a bowl of jarred pickled jalapenos for an extra charge. The margarita had no kick and was just mostly sweet. The decor was nice but it was very bright in there. Lights over the tables, lights in the ceiling fans, and can lights in the ceiling. My husband said his was good, but he likes bland food.

I’ve been to Mount Airy twice in the past few months and both times ate at this restaurant. The food is fantastic with several vegetarian options. The atmosphere is fun, very cute and colorful. And the staff is super friendly. I highly recommend, and it’s open on Sundays when much of the town is closed.

This is the best Mexican Food I have had in a very long time if not ever. EVERYTHING was so fresh and flavorful from start to finish. Athenticity at its very best!

I'm from Texas and I've visited the area a few times. Chile Rojo the best Tex-Mex in the city I've tried thus far! The flavor is on point, the prices are reasonable, the space is clean and the service is excellent. Genuinely good Tex-Mex. I recommend you ask for the salsa verde. I was pleasantly surprised, and will be back the next time I visit!

I have zero complaints. The service was great, the food was hot upon arrival and decor is amazing. I've eaten here once before before a show and enjoyed it. This time was much better as I ordered more food. My son loved the food and outside decor. If anything, I'm used to a certain table salsa taste. While this was not bad, it has almost a grocery store taste even though it was homemade. The green salsa is homemade and has a terrific taste and not too spicy for those that don't like heat.
