10 out of 10 would recommend. This is a great spot to have an authentic African food experience. The restaurant itself is really nice, the service is exceptional and the food is top tier. My son and I dined here together. He ordered jollof, mackerel, and plantains. I stuck with my tried and true go-to egusi, fufu, and plantains. Absolutely delicious and satisfying! Do yourself a flavor and pass on through.😋

This was honestly the worst African food experience I’ve ever had. I have been eating egusi for many years from many different restaurants and egusi should NEVER be bitter. The soup I received was extremely bitter, to the point where it was inedible. I took maybe three bites before having to stop. When I called the restaurant to let them know, the response I received was very dismissive. I was told, “This is how Nigerian food is,” which is simply not true. After speaking with multiple friends who are very familiar with Nigerian cuisine because they are Nigerian, they confirmed what I already knew: egusi is not supposed to taste bitter unless something went wrong—such as rancid/expired egusi seeds, spoiled palm oil, or the soup being burned during the cooking process. The meat itself tast

I had my 50th birthday at Chioma’s African Restaurant, and I have to say — it was absolutely perfect! From start to finish, Chioma and her team overdelivered in every possible way. First, the food — oh my god! The African food was absolutely finger-licking good! My guests and I couldn’t stop raving about how flavorful and authentic everything tasted. And let me tell you, there was plenty of food to go around — everyone was well-fed and satisfied. For the amount and quality of food we got, the price was unbelievably affordable. The environment was spotless — clean, pristine, and so welcoming. The warmth and hospitality made everyone feel comfortable and at home. Dorcas- the owner herself was incredibly professional and went above and beyond to make my day special. She even added so many t

The portions were generous and the meat was plenty, but overall the food was a big letdown. The sauces were a complete miss and instead of enhancing the meal, they ruined it. The ayamashe was blended way too smooth, almost like baby food, which made it unappealing. The okra soup had no draw at all — very strange in both taste and texture. To top it off, the food really messed up my stomach, and my family’s as well. Definitely not the experience we were hoping for.

To say I am disappointed is an understatement, this is the only African restaurant in this area and every time I go, I’m disappointed. So this time I decided to write a review. The fact that I paid $21 and this is what I get a whole plate of rice, two small pieces meat, and a half bowl of okra soup. So basically I paid to have rice for lunch. I figured if I would go earlier in the day, I will get fresh food, but I didn’t. The okra soup taste burnt. The meat was very tough and the rice let’s just say the rice was not made that day. I love supporting black owned restaurants, but at the same time I would like to get my money worth for my food, because I could have went home and made me a pot of rice. I am upset and will no longer support this restaurant. I will drive all the way to Decatur ju
