3 stars. Take it or leave it. This place is aggressively average. The Chicken Katsu Curry tastes like “brown,” vaguely reminiscent of Coco Ichiban, but without the ability to adjust spice—the one lever that might have saved it. The good news: the rice is excellent, the broths are solid, and the bulgogi beef bowl was genuinely good. Tempura shrimp and fried tofu were decent. Service was efficient but indifferent. We got our food quickly, but one server made us feel like we were in the way. At this price point, there are much better options nearby for ramen and curry. Nothing here is bad. Very little is memorable.
If you're looking for consistently amazing food, look no further than Chopstix. I've been going here for roughly 15 years and have never had a bad experience. The servers are great and attentive, the food is next level, and the atmosphere is always nice. Great spot to eat after having a few beers elsewhere. Love their ramen, katsu, curry, rolls, and appetizers. Can't go wrong with this place
Okonomiyaki - Smells fishy, has a very smoky BBQ flavor. The pancake had a slightly undercooked texture making it moist. There was nothing really remarkable about it more of a space filler. Oyaka - Was a chicken egg and veggies mix over rice. Reminded me of the frozen rice bowls my mom would buy when I was little. Comfort food but nothing to write home about. @ Chopstix
The chicken katsu don with miso soup and salad with rice is delicious. The chicken is hot and fresh. When you dine in they give you miso soup. Very good quality food. Comes out pretty quick even when they are crowded. I've never ate anything else from here. I will go back again for the chicken katsu don plate though.
I have been coming here for 18 years. It is just as comforting today as it was then. Consistent food and quick service. I'm really happy to be able to still visit this place with so many new places popping up. Please support this restaurant and the authentic dishes.
