Chow Down Alley

We stumbled upon Chow Down Alley on Old St. Augustine Rd and were so pleasantly surprised. We went during peak lunch time on a Monday and were impressed with how busy they were with both take-in and take-out orders, yet the ordering process was still quick and effortless with very friendly staff. We got our food within about 10–15 minutes, and it came out super fresh and hot. Everything was made to order, which we really appreciated. We ordered the limited edition French onion sandwich and the tuna melt, and both were delicious. There’s a good amount of seating inside as well as outdoor seating, which is a nice bonus. Such a great find, and we’ll definitely be adding this spot to our list of favorite food places.

Today I had the worst customer service for everyday food. I ordered a grilled chicken salad requesting to substitute cheese for extra banana peppers. When I got my salad, there were no onions. So I called to advise that the onions were missing. Now, I did have someone else pick up my order but I was present on the phone. The owner said that the order was confusing (not sure how as it was simple .... a grilled chicken salad and instead of cheese extra banana peppers). The owner said that they do not do substitutions and said she confirmed with the person picking up my order that I requested cheese and onion. The owner advised that the person picking up my order confirmed correct, no cheese. So when I called about the onion, the owner told me that the do not charge for extra onion. I advised

Great food. I especially love their brownies. I prefer the breakfast but the lunch is great also.

This is a great mom and pop location with great food. They are so nice and prices are good! Love going there for lunch!

Sandwiches, soups, burgers, salads and ridiculously good ranch dressing.. love love love this place. We ordered chicken salad and egg salad over greens, a regular garden salad and salad soup for lunch. The family and staff are so friendly and the food was ready super fast. Love the kale and lentil is my absolute favorite.. made with so much love and flavor. Best limeades in town too! Simple good food at fair prices. My kind of place!
