City of Fairfax Regional Library

Large bright building, tons of windows and high ceilings. Lots of books for kids and nice cozy reading areas. Bathrooms are clean, lots of parking in garage.

Went today, place is really impressive but that's not why I am writing. Chris from the Virginia Room has been helping me (and out of towner) with research on where my parents lived in the early mid 1960s (Mosby Woods). He's been great, gone far beyond expectations and got to meet him and his colleagues in person today. Impressive resources the City should be grateful to retain professionals of this caliber and attitude. I feel better about the 10% I keep getting charged at restaurants while visiting :)

This is a quiet, clean, and beautiful library with a great space for studying. The staff are friendly and helpful, and I always enjoy spending time here. My only concern is the opening hours. I wish the library opened a bit earlier, for example at 7:30 or 8:00 a.m. (or at least 9:00), and stayed open later in the evening, such as until 11:00 p.m. I understand that being open 24 hours is not possible, but longer hours would be very helpful for people with busy schedules.

This is a very beautiful library, clean, quiet, and well staffed. Staff are friendly. Free parking underneath the library with easy access. There are meeting rooms and quiet rooms. Many study tables throughout the library with individual lamps and power outlets. Lots of computers in the research area if you don't have a laptop. Kids are well-behaved hanging out here.

This library is big, clean, and really nice ,it’s a great place for both kids and adults. They offer a wide selection of books and resources, and the space feels welcoming the moment you walk in. The staff is always kind and helpful, making every visit easy and enjoyable. One of the best parts is their kids’ story time. It’s engaging, fun, and a perfect way to get little ones excited about reading. A fantastic library for families and anyone who loves a peaceful place to learn and explore!
