City of Orem Public Works

I called before closing (I'm pretty sure) and the hold message continued to state that my estimated wait time would be less than one minute - on and on. I waited for over 30 minutes... until I figured they either must not bother to put on a "closed" message on OR they just didn't want to bother with my call and left for the day. Hold time less than 1 minute? Not professional, Orem City!

They've always been super cool to me and patient. Special thanks to Tyler for coming out and helping me with the leak and taking the time to teach me about the situation. Orem City Utilities are WAY more expensive than the surrounding cities. The base connection fees are more than $50 per month and that's if you don't use any of their services! LOOK AT MY BILL from June 2019! I wasn't even home for the month and had ZERO utilities use but had a bill for $53.52 They charge: $20 water connection fee $29 sewer connection fee $6 for city franchise tax and street lighting I would recommend living in Provo or Lindon if you can. Those cities are much less expansive for utilities.

Orem water is polluted. I have to clean my faucet screens weekly to maintain pressure. The screens are full of little black rocks like deposits. I'm afraid to drink it. I don't know what it can do to our kidneys. I use filtered water to drink and cooking and that seems so preposterous when we are paying our city for safe water.

I was calling to report a potentially broken fire hydrant. From the brief call I was left with a very positive feeling of care and concern for my report. Overall a very good brief experience with Orem Public Works.
