City of Waterloo Public Works

So I just got off the phone with an incredibly unpleasant lady. I was unaware that they were not running on Christmas Eve day and they had moved trash day to Tuesday. So my normal trash day is tomorrow and I have two weeks worth of trash not able to fit in my trash can I asked if I could pay a fee and have somebody stop by today as well as my normal trash day. She said no if I would have called yesterday they could have scheduled it. I then asked okay can I schedule something for Friday she said no you can't. Tell me how that makes sense. They then asked her can she sign me up for notifications when they move my trash day she goes no you can go online and do that. Horrible customer service.

Ever since I moved to this town I've had non stop issues with the city of waterloo, first incident a month and a half ago they completely missed the truck dumping the trash INTO the street. Then 3 weeks ago they set my can down so violently it damaged my lawn. This week I go to bring my trash in, they only took half my trash, my neighbors all had trash lining the road where the cans get set. Most of us on this road are disabled and have caretakers. When I called they blamed it on a pizza box and said they'd charge me $20 to have to come back. They always want to charge me to come back to do a service I ALREADY PAY FOR to fix their mistake. My trash is always bagged. Even the pizza boxes get bagged. It looks like they ripped a bag when dumping and the content fell back into the can. I am wh

The City never sends out calendars anymore showing garbage schedules. They used to send out magnets for your fridge so you know the alternative days for holidays.

I didnt have my trash picked up because it was "overfilled" according to them even though it was picked up with the lid partially opened or halfway opened before so why refuse to pick it up today? I called and the lady said they would charge us $20 just to come back and pick it up. Even though they're are other owners in my neighborhood that have their trash lids partially opened or "overfilled" and theirs were still picked up. Was the driver having a bad day or what?

Very terrible service. Got a notice because garbage was 1 bag to many so lid didn't close just because i missed a week due to 4th of july and their incompetence, the paper i had said Saturday would be the make up day but they did on Friday instead. The lid didnt close on some other times too and never had a problem and I've lived here a long time and always paid on time and for you to say it will not be picked up is bs especially since I've seen others like it around town. And another thing i dont get is on notice one of the options is if its blocked by vehicles, how is it the homeowners fault if people park by their garbage can.
