Coastal Seafood Market

The crabs were dead. I’m sorry, I come from Charleston, SC where we buy our crabs live. So when I called and asked if they had blue crabs I was expecting live crabs when I walked in. To my surprise the crabs were dead. lol. Nevertheless, they were meaty and large in size. The three I did buy for $9. Whenever I want a taste of home I’ll visit here for the blue crabs. Today I experience racism here and I will not be returning. I spoke to someone earlier about picking up crawfish they assured me they had them. I drove 40 mins to pick them up only for everyone to act clueless about it and actually laugh in my face as if it was a joke that a grown adult drove 40 mins for something yall said yall had and don’t. A Mexican guy came right in and walked out with crawfish so I guess me being African American didn’t qualify me to purchase crawfish today. Yeah I will not be returning I should have went with that the reviews were saying anyway! They are extremely unprofessional, pictured above is a dirty dustpan used to scoop ice trust me I wont be returning to this filthy, stinking, unprofessional, RACIST business ever again. Went across town to grab blue crabs for my gumbo. I had my order placed with my usual connect but decided to wait one more day closer to Christmas. Unfortunately due to the weather there were none so I discovered this spot and was a huge mistake. I purchased 8 blue crabs. I was told they were just cleaned. The appeared to be fresh. When I opened the bag I immediately thought they may have been bad or on the brink due to the odor. I cleaned them anyway and noticed the meat was soft. Took a step further and still boiled just to be sure. Mushy and still with an odor. Never going back to them again! The owner claims my post was a lie...NOT unfortunately I didn't call and wasn't going back across town but I did take pics! Still never going back to this business again...ever!! Don't waste your

Coastal has never let us down. We travel all the way from San Antonio to come get our fresh seafood there. The atmosphere is always welcoming and clean, they always answer the phone, the seafood is super fresh, and they are always stocked. We get live blue crab year round, nice sized crawfish, and the freshest colossal shrimp. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a fresh and consistent seafood market.

Best place to buy crawfish !!! Every single crawfish was lively and decently sized.
