The food was genuinely very good — fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the service didn’t live up to the meal. Our server, Bernie, was inattentive from the start. It took about 30 minutes just to have our order taken, and throughout the evening he would drop off drinks and food and quickly walk away while we were trying to ask questions or request refills. It felt difficult to get his attention, which made the experience frustrating.

Our room had a king-sized bed that made for a very comfortable night's sleep. The room was a bit on the small side, leaving not much room for anything else, though sitting and reading by the window was nice. The bathroom was tiny, so small that the hand sink was in the main portion of the bedroom, hence "cozy" in the title. ||The rooms in the Inn are above the dining rooms, and the restaurant was quite busy during our stay. Interestingly enough, very little of the noise below made it up into our room, which was great. The owner and staff were always friendly and helpful, and they were able to fit us in for dinner on the night of our arrival, despite having forgotten to make a reservation. We had my wife’s 50th surprise birthday party at the Blackington. If there is one word I could use describe the experience it will be: Perfect! We had a personal bartender for a party of 40 who was very Attentive and waited on us hand and foot. The food was outstanding; everybody raved. It is a perfect venue for a party this size. The owner did a fantastic job of helping helping me plan it as well. The price was very reasonable. I highly recommend!

The hostess was absolutely amazing! We were completely underwhelmed with the service and food. For $200 I would expect a steak that wasn’t raw, chewy and flavorless. Maybe having the waitress box our food for us instead of throwing a box on the table. The busser was also amazing, her and the hostess are the reason I’m giving any stars at all.

Sad to see you dont offer breakfast anymore. My wife and I have stay at the Blackington many times over our 21 years together, celebrating our anniversaries and birthdays here. We always told friends that Blackington was hidden gem in this area offering fine dining, luxurious rooms and a incredible breakfast buffet. So it was quite disappointing to wake this morning and there was no breakfast options available at all, even a paid option. I guess its just another sign of these crushing economic times. I hope in the future you reconsider.
