Commack Public Library

I visited the Commack library for the first time In a very long time. While I am in the Ellwood School district, our library did not have a book I wanted to read. The entire staff that I came in contact with at the Commack library was exceptional. The library is absolutely beautiful!! Plenty of parking, easily accessible. All kinds of services available!

It is one of the best libraries in Suffolk County. If you are a guest to this library, you can still utilize the computers. There are plenty of parking spots. The restrooms are very clean.

The Commack public library (CPL) is truly a gem in our community, and I feel so fortunate to be a part of it. Someone just posted a review about the staff being rude at this location a mere 5 hours ago, and I agree. In a completely unrelated review (I don't know the other person), I'd like to share my experience. I was with two special needs individuals who were learning how to play a new card game, and we used the teen room as it was much quieter than the main room. When teaching autistic individuals, a quiet environment is essential. While they were learning the ropes of the game, nobody spoke and you could hear a pin drop. These individuals were very quiet and well behaved! Well. The librarians Annalyse & Michelle were unapologetically rude, and extremely passive aggressive (and loud) in telling us that we needed to leave "right away". I have been using this library since late 2000's. This library is nostalgic and one of the staff still works there and she is sweet. Great books, good environment, and discounts on long island aquarium and AdventureLand. Nostalgia.
