My husband used to come here a lot during his college years. He was really excited about eating here again and wasn't disappointed. The main reason I didn't give a perfect score is because their restrooms could use some help; they don't have a baby changing diaper station and one of the toilet holders is broken (as shown in the picture). They do offer high chairs though!
A Tale of Two Sandwiches at Cook Out The moment you step into Cook Out on Emmet Street, you're greeted by an atmosphere that's both welcoming and tropical - and by tropical, I mean the indoor temperature rivals a summer day in the Sahara. The heat was so intense, we found ourselves speed-eating like contestants in a competitive eating championship. The Speed of Service The service here moves at lightning speed. In fact, between filling our drinks and turning around, our food had materialized as if by fast-food sorcery. This impressive turnaround time did raise some eyebrows about the "freshly made" claims, but hey, when you're hungry, speed counts. The Main Event The star of our meal was the peculiar tale of two chicken sandwiches - the "Cheddar Style" and "Original Style" char-grille
Food was reasonably priced, and delicious. Fries could have been crispier but had a uniquely good flavor. Hush puppies were crispy and fluffy and delicious. Cole slaw was simple and refreshing. Presentation was quite basic, no frills. Service was fast. Like really fast. BBQ was not too wet or too dry. BBQ is finely shredded. Make sure you ask for some BBQ sauce on the side. The sauce is great and the BBQ sandwich/plate is fine on it's own but is best with the BBQ sauce added.
This is absolutely disgusting! My mom ordered this milkshake, and I’m not racist but there was nothing but black woman in there who would be rude to us when we just wanted a bite to eat and something good to drink… the woman who was at the register was rude to us but treated the same colored women who was next in line like a good person and us like we were bad… they gave my mom a milkshake and she has health issues as it is, and they gave her a rotten milk coke shake… these people were not nice at all, and I don’t care what your color skin is…. But it doesn’t take anything to just be nice…
Food and service always warm. It also feels good to see security at midnight, even when they're not so busy. The girl security rock, always nice
