Cooper's Liquors & Deli Inc

As a kid I went to Cooper's and enjoyed the hot pastrami sandwich. That's the only item I would order. The sandwich was full of meat and flavor. That was back in the late 80' early 90's. I went back to Cooper's in 2021 and was very disappointed. I ordered a hot pastrami on a long roll with mustard. The quality of the meat was horrible. The meat was pink, fatty, and rubber...sliced very thin and tasteless. It was more fat than meat. I see the owner put a picture up of a pastrami sandwich but that's not the quality of meat you will receive. If you look at the pictures the customers took...you can clearly see the two sandwiches looks very different. I don't know what happened to this deli but I would never go back to order a sandwich. You better off going somewhere else. So disappointed!!!!!

Since 1968 this store has been a major staple in the newark community. I have been coming here since I was child and the food here is fabulous. To this day I still frequent here for their delicious pastrami and corn beef sandwiches. Fast friendly service. Close to transportation and minutes from downtown newark

Stopped in here to get a turkey and cheese hero they make a great sandwich. The portion size was great and the bread and meat was fresh the staff was very friendly and you can see everything made in front of you. I love the old school feel of the place remind me of growing up as a kid in Brooklyn. The only thing is they need to redo the outside of the store so it pops out more to passing cars because this place deserves more attention than it gets. I dare say I felt like it was a hidden gem or a local secret. I definitely will come back and I'll recommend it

Came in on a Tuesday night at 7:45 pm. The staff was getting ready too close but they still gave me the most amazing hospitality and let me try the pastrami before ordering. The food was amazing and much better than KATZ who charges 35 for the same sandwich. Don’t hesitate please support them !!!! This place was amazing !!! I will be back !!!!!

1000/10 my mom and cousins grew up on this food they're like 54 now & it still taste the same to them , for me trying it for the first time same score from me :) I know where to get my sandwiches when I come home lol ppl who have negative reviews just don't know good food or aren't from here 🙏🏽 blessings
