Corky's Ribs And BBQ

If you’re looking for authentic Memphis BBQ, this isn’t the place. The service was fantastic and our server was so kind, but the food was just so mediocre. The sides were better than the BBQ, although smaller portioned. The ribs were tough, tasted almost like they had been frozen before being cooked which is a possibility. The flavor was good on the dry rub but the texture made it hard to eat them. The brisket was inedible. It was the driest, oldest looking and tasting brisket I’ve ever had. It really tasted like they had been prepared and microwaved before serving. It was such a disappointment. I don’t live in the area anymore and travel for work. I was trying to enjoy some BBQ while avoiding Beale and I should’ve known better. I wouldn’t recommend at $27 a plate for what is pictured.

My date and I received exceptional service on a Thursday evening. We shared a Captain Don’s Dinner. The brisket was ok, I liked the ribs, the pulled chicken and pork were good. No notes on the sides of baked beans, slaw, grits, and crispy fries. I went for the convenient location and service.

Ummm I dont have to go back. I love the Poplar Ave drive thru! There were barely any sides and everything looked old but was actually slightly tender. There was too much seasoning on meat. Sides were for 2 people but barely enough for 1 person. The young man at the window was super nice and the food came out kinda fast. You drive down the back of several buildongs to exit drive thru...yep it was quite dark! For over $37 NOT

We drove 30 minutes to try Corky’s, and it was worth every mile! I ordered the catfish and it was absolutely delicious—like New Orleans in my mouth. Our group had a little bit of everything, and honestly, the table went quiet except for finger-licking and happy sighs. Service was top notch, and the atmosphere felt special, especially with all the pictures of celebrities who have visited lining the walls. I took a client who wanted "Memphis" BBQ while in town. We were not disappointed. Service was slow at first, busy or short-handed, but once she took our order, she took good care of us. We both had a half rack of half and half (half saucy and half dry rub). We liked both and it's difficult to decide which is better. It comes with fries, slaw, and baked beans. We both substituted Mac and cheese for the slaw. If you can eat all of that, you're going to be very full. Plan to take some home. I'll be back again soon.
