Coryell Museum and Historical Center

This unassuming museum was AMAZING. We have been to history museums all over the United States, and this museum has things I'd never actually seen in person. They don't have the fancy expensive display boards or anything, but everything is set up SO nicely, with great information and signage. And FREE. My teens enjoyed it and learned new things just as much as I did. We had a field trip here and the younger kid all enjoyed it too, we all spent two hours exploring. There is just room after room after room.

This place is an absolute gem!! First off it is absolutely free to visit. I was amazed at the sheer size of the musuem and the collections held within the walls. The curator was an absolute delight as well. Full of knowledge and very sweet. I must preface this review with saying I came with two children, ages 6 and 9. While they are particularly good, they still are children and have a tendency to touch things even when they are told not too. She was very kind and patient with their curiosity and at times wondering hands. She was quick to show them all that they could explore which was just wonderful!! Having a scavenger hunt kept them engaged and excited as we navigated this two story musuem! Don't let the outside deceive you as you could never imagine the world awaiting you inside. Furt

Such a great and cute museum! We went out on a Saturday and it was filled with so much more stuff than we were expecting! The largest collection of spurs you'll ever see, military things, vehicles and furniture going back to the 1800's, and much more! And it's FREE! Definitely go by if you want to do something fun on an afternoon!

Nice local museum in the downtown area. We spent several hours looking at the large number of artifacts and talking to the volunteers. Everything from old cars to newspapers and a log cabin jail that was moved in with an addition to the building built around it. The volunteers are a treasure in and of themselves: full of local information.

I loved this!!! Super cute a lot to see, I would recommend for young kids since not a lot to interact with. But excellent for the older crowd and those who enjoy history. A LOT to read and learn and it's pretty neat of a niche!
