Cottonmouth Southern Soul Food

Very quaint location. Full of potential. Unfortunately, not the greatest visit this time. Ordered the fried chicken dinner, grouper taco, and fried green tomatoes. The grouper taco was very good. The tomatoes were fantastic. The fried chicken was not very good at all. It was re-heated and served and not heated up very well. Would not recommend. Ordered a beer that was served warm in the bottle. When I asked about it the server said that the cooler was just turned on so nothing was cold. Service was on the slow side as there were only two tables that were occupied. Maybe on another night?

This place is the real deal! Everything we ordered was exceptional, the shrimp and cheesy grits, the cornbread, the fried green tomatoes, the short rib pizza, the shrimp tacos, the truffle fries… everything was made to order, served hot and very flavorful. Our waiter Kyle was super helpful and very friendly and authentic. The decor and atmosphere was amazing and we really enjoyed our visit, and the live music was icing on the cake!

My man and I had our first date here and we just went back for our anniversary. It was just a great as the first time. Love the music and the food is fantastic and the service is like family. Love it.

Just awesome Unique menu, friendly service, quaint, you’re home. Do come hungry because you’ll leave satisfied, and the best live music you’ll ever find in the Bradenton and Sarasota area. David Shiplett is a master in his craft. All top Musicians in Florida play at Cottonmouth.

We took the family here to check out a band and get some dinner. Love the relaxed vibe here. The food is delicious. We got the fried chicken, Bento box and some biscuits. Comfort food at its finest 😋. They had a nice assortment of beers available. I went for the Free Dive IPA from local Copper tail brewery 🍺. For desert we got the banana bread pudding and mudslide brownie. Sooo good! 😊 Staff was super friendly and helpful. The music of course was phenomenal. 🎶 Can’t wait to come back.
