Country House Cafe

I got a meat and three and it was okay.They gave me a coffee cup with my drink in it and I would suggest them giving a cup and a half especially when you're paying almost $3 for a drink I would have liked more than a 12oz cup of sweet tea and lemonade. My calabash chicken could've use some more seasoning and fried a little longer, but still good. The collard greens were salty and mushy, the sweet potato crunch was really good, the okra was cooked perfectly and the Mac and cheese tasted store bought so I didn't like it. Aside from two of the workers walking in and out of the kitchen to stare at me the service wasn't terrible.

Good experience. Fried green BLT was good. Double bacon burger was good. Fries weren't amazing but not bad, maybe a little salty. Service was good. Nice spot for southern feel.

If your a country kind a person like me & my family & you like good southern country style food & chill atmosphere, laid back, peaceful, relaxing place you'll love this place! Animals & livestock here for guests to interact which was my favorite part! I loved on those animals much as I could. Especially mr Billie Bangs! My new favorite goat 🐐 friend! He is my favorite Goat! He's very distinctive in appearance and those big old pretty light brown and hazel eyes! All the goats were sweet as pie. They love attention and to be rubbed & fed. I would suggest having pet food for the animals for guest to feed them. The chickens, the roosters, 🦚 peacocks, the fattest prettiest turkey I think I ever seen! Rabbits pigs. Wish I could rate the meals separately, my wife and I split a burger and fried green tomato sandwich. Burger was your standard 3.75-4 star burger, good but nothing special, that or maybe im to critical judging cheeseburgers, nonetheless the burger judgement comes from decades of personal cheeseburger gluttony so take what you will. B/L/Green tomato sandwich was 4.25-4.5, if it had a little remoulade sauce would be 4.75-5. Bacon was cooked perfectly. Now lets talk about the experience, theres a rope swing which is big bonus I mean are you going to go to a restaurant that doesnt have a rope swing if you can go to one with a rope swing, capitol F no. Everything was just ok. Waitress started out great, but then seemed to disappear after getting our food, drinks needed refilled, a to go order needed placed (previously discussed w/waitress). Fried chicken and fried fish were way too greasy and country fried steak way too bland. By the time waitress came back around we were already done eating and had to sit several minutes to get that to go order made. Kinda disappointed
