Country Sunflower

What’s up brothers, this is Old Bai. Today I’m at the Country Sunflower Café in Yerington, western Nevada. Out here it’s literally the middle of nowhere — nothing but open land for miles — yet this cozy family-style restaurant run by a group of ladies is a hidden gem. The omelet with grilled sausage is perfect for kids, and the T-bone steak I ordered was surprisingly delicious. Best part? The prices are extremely affordable — almost half of what you’d pay in a big city. Mothers everywhere cook with the same warmth, just like sunshine brings life to a sunflower. If you ever pass through Yerington, don’t miss this spot — it has an impressive 4.9-star rating online!

This is definitely a must try when visiting Yerington. They recently started serving dinner on weekends. They are well known for their breakfast and lunch but last night I was very impressed by their dinner. I had the chicken fried steak, and it was delicious. The ranch for the salad is made in house is the best. Also, the butter syrup for breakfast is like no other. The Herman Special or Peggy Special is always a hit, and their burger are some of the best around. Anything you get is guaranteed to fill your need. An off the menu item you can order for breakfast is the Omar Special. It's an over easy egg, a scrambled egg, bacon, hash browns, American cheese on sourdough bread with a little bit of jam. It's delicious!! Oh, and all their desserts are made in house and are so good.

In this part of Nevada places to eat breakfast are far and few! It was a pleasant surprise to stumble onto The Country Sunflower. A very friendly lady took our order. The pancakes were cooked just right the sausage links were huge and delicious and the eggs were cooked just right. Great food in a funky little cafe. If you are driving by, be sure to check it out!

As I pulled up i never would have noticed there was a diner inside. This is a nice little hidden gem. I tried the breakfast food and it was delicious! Also they make their own salsa which I recommend. Their homemade desserts were also fantastic!

Ran across this wonderful restaurant while taking the US-95A through Yerington. Noticed LOTS of cars in the parking lot, which is a tried and true method of finding a great restaurant. What a find! Great food, friendly service and great prices! Our waitress, Julie, was exceptional. Attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was just as incredible. There is a large parking lot with an attached well-stocked store, propane and ice on site. There are two restrooms here, as well. There is even a rack of free books to take and read. THIS IS WHERE THE LOCALS EAT! If you are driving on I-95 towards Reno it would be well worth your time to take the I-95A towards Yerington not only for the incredible scenery but also this great diner!
