This Queen Anne mansion built in 1892 for one of the lumber barons involved in Rhinelander's beginnings is a trip back in time. There are antiques and art to fascinate the eye everywhere you look. For a reasonable price you can experience the luxury of way more square footage and way more stuff than you really need. Of course the rich have never stopped at satisfying their "needs." Cranberry Hill preserves the epitome of 19th century conspicuous consumption. ||||We had fabulous breakfasts tailored to our likes and dislikes served when we wanted. When your breakfast is asparagus quiche or eggs Benedict with steak instead of bacon, accompanied by potatoes and fresh fruit, who can think about lunch? We felt so pampered.||||We had the only room with AC, but it turned out we didn't need it. Rhi

Enjoyed living in a mansion like an old time filthy rich lumber baron for a few days. Our suite was big enough to get lost in and full of antiques, two fireplaces, a grand piano. The breakfasts were wonderful and customized to our likes and dislikes. Asparagus quiche! Eggs Benedict made with steak instead of bacon! I lost an earring while we were there and the owner found it and mailed it back to me. If you don't know Rhinelander, it's one of the nicest towns in the upper Midwest. Beautiful Prairie-style architecture, lakes, woods, friendly people. Cranberry Hill is everything a bed and breakfast should be and walking distance from the charming downtown.

While I travel quite a bit, it is almost always hotels, so in no way am I a B&B expert. This place was charming. It was built by a lumbar baron in 1892. Expect a quaint, turn-of-the-century home with many rooms (9000 sq ft), a few bathrooms to share, antiques everywhere, only a few plugs to charge your phones, and air-conditioning in only one room. We stayed here July and all the rooms were very comfortable. Our host, the original owner's grandson, served coffee at 7 AM and breakfast at 8 AM in the dining room. It was wonderful. Enjoy.

I was invited to the Cranberry Hill as a guest for a festive holiday social. It was an evening of charm, hospitality, festive Christmas decorations and endless rooms colorfully decorated in time and elegant architectural wood trim hand cut by artiseans. The table was spendidly adorned with a multitude of tastes.||I was magically drawn to the homemade flavor of the Collins Street fruitcake and left with the gift of its recipe. I so enjoyed this evening being able to blend into the elegance of yesteryear that I gave a tour to friends. I was thanked by the host but it was a pleasure to share with friends an experience that one rarely feels in present times. The memory of this gifted evening will be well remembered. This is a charming Victorian lady.||.

What a find! Karen the owner made us feel like royalty and her home was like a palace. This is a must for all. We will definitely stay again and again. This little find should be in a magazine!! Each room was unique and beautifully decorated with it's own bathroom. The family room would sleep a family of four or more and was like a Victorian nursery. The main floor was enchanting and comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. Fresh flowers were in our room and it was beyond clean. Go you won't regret it!
