Creole Dame Bed & Breakfast

We just had the most horrible experience we have ever had at Creole Dame B&B in Sumter S.C. My wife and I prefer to stop at Bed and Breakfasts when traveling. While driving to avoid a snowstorm, we had trouble booking on Booking.com and called the property directly. The owner indicated that they had not received the booking and would check and call us back (which she never did). We agreed that if there was confusion, we would settle up when we got there. After driving 3 hours directly to the establishment we arrived at 8 pm. The gentleman who met us at the door indicated that there would be a $30 dollar up charge for arriving after 6 pm. Beautiful home. Roomy and very comfortable bedroom. Breakfast was amazing and delicious. Adorable couple who runs the place. We would definitely stay there again.

Our stay at the Creole Dame was wonderful! The historic inn is beautifully appointed and decorated. We enjoyed a fabulous authentic Creole style breakfast of the most delectable biscuit smothered in rich, creamy creole sauce and smoked sausage along with perfectly cooked eggs and the creamiest stone ground cheese grits. Our host and hostess were so very gracious and welcoming! The home is spotless and the bed was so very comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed a walk to nearby Swan Lake. Next time for sure!

The parking was good.||Disliked · The accommodations and the policies on booking.com were not consistent with the polices of the host. I spoke with the hosts 2 weeks prior to my stay to inform them of my error of 5 persons instead of 6. I was informed of the $25 charge for a simple mistake that could have been simply corrected. Additionally, I told the host that we were visiting for the rodeo, and I was never told that checkin was between 4-6 and any time after was considered after hours and generated a charge. When I arrived, I was immediately pulled away from my friends because I was the one who booked. I felt like a child going to the principals office.

Comfortable King Bed with premium linens and convenience of en-suite bathroom are features of this ideal Bed n’ Breakfast nestled in Sumter SC. The hosts / owners were quite charming and their passion for hospitality was evident upon first entering the threshold of this nicely appointed property. The delectable breakfast served beckons one back for a return visit. Creole Dame is a beacon of welcome and respite.
