Customer Reviews
We had a great 10 days staying in Crescent City Guest House. We booked directly with them which works out cheaper than through the BnB booking platforms. The bed was comfortable, shower good, room clean, aircon great, and we loved being able to make our own breakfast at whatever time we liked. There was always a great choice of bagels, muffins, fruit, cereal, juice, teas and coffee. The area is very quiet so no problem sleeping, and you can walk to the French Quarter in about 10 minutes. Matt and Lynn make you feel very welcome. Highly recommend for a great value and convenient stay in New Orleans.
Our stay at Crescent City was incredible. A historic house made out of an old barge-board that floated down the Mississippi River. The house is very clean with a fully stocked fridge, clean towels and comfortable beds. It's a short walk to Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street and Canal Street. But it is still in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful backyard containing a pond and garden, making it great spot to escape the craziness of New Orleans and get a little R&R. Better than the house are the hosts, Matt and Lynn. Extremely friendly, salt of the Earth people who will give your space if you wish, or share a drink with you and tell you the best spots to go. I would highly recommend staying at Crescent City Guest House.
This was my third visit with Lynn and Matthew at the Crescent City Guest House and will not be my last. They are excellent hosts and the accommodations are just what I need. Plus, the neighborhood is quiet yet is quick access to Frenchman Street or the French Quarter. If you're comfortable being just a little off the beaten path, you won't find a better place to stay.
This is a wonderful place to stay if you love the high-energy music scene on Frenchmen Street but want to be able to get away from the crowds and noise. It’s just two blocks away, but on a quiet street in the lovely, eccentric Marigny neighborhood. Staying there, you’ll feel like a New Orleans native, not a tourist.||The entrance to the house is behind a locked gate. The guesthouse section has four guest bedrooms, plus a big common room with sofas, a full kitchen, snacks and fruit etc. available any time. My room was big and pleasant, with two windows, one looking out on the lovely garden in back of the house. Comfortable bed, mini-fridge, good desk, good storage space. The bathroom was huge and included a huge walk-in closet. Good Wifi. ||The backyard garden is lovely and peaceful, with s
I stayed here with my young adult children and could t believe how RIGHT my choice was for our holiday: so close to the wonderful music of the French Quarter, yet quiet at night, a small number of rooms (3) in total with a homey / lounge common room and fabulous garden. Lyn and Mat are the most thoughtful hosts (even providing extras of our favourite fruit for breakfast!). And so affordable!
