Cressy House Bed & Breakfast

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few nights and loved it. We enjoyed how close it was to some local restaurants and how close we were to my family to see them. Will definitely stay here again when in town.

Hosts were fantastic and got timely responses all the time.||The house with its classical rooms and comfortable lounges made for a very cosy atmosphere, and the layout of the property is fantastic perfect for group stays or a peaceful getaway.||The garden was a real highlight with fruit trees adding a lovely touch, and the presence of peacocks, goats and other animals made it a truly unique and wholesome experience. Very charming room. The owner's were most accommodating. We enjoyed our stay in this sprawling home on a side street, close to the lake, parks, and walking trails.

We booked this place on VRBO. We arrived and called to see how to check in, locate the key. Ms Laura Cressy has no reservations for us, and said she has never had any bookings on VRBO. Guess what, one of her regulars called just today to book the room, she says. Now we have no place to stay. She never checked her account with VRBO to book us even though we already paid for the room. She blames us for not calling her directly to book and says it’s crazy how much more VRBO charged us than what she would have charged per night. VRBO emailed me repeatedly for my experience of the cressy house and I didn’t review because I didn’t want to leave a poor review on her account. We had been driving for 14hrs and stopped by the lake to see if we could find a secure place to overnight. It looked as though all of the hotels were back up towards I-10 but there were a few b&b's nearby. At that moment I wasn't a fan of b&b's but decided to take a chance and call Cressy. A very nice lady answered and said she needed 30 minutes to prepare the room but agreed to check us in immediately so we could go find dinner. She met us in the driveway where we checked in and headed out. We returned after dinner to find a spacious and welcoming king size bed with sheets that felt better than any hotel I've ever slept in.
