Crust Simply Italian Scottsdale

When we first entered, it wasn’t clear what to do or where to go until someone told us to sit wherever. After we ordered, we were asked to move to another table to make room for an incoming party of eight. While we were told we didn’t have to, it felt like we really didn’t have a choice. We were originally offered a comped meal, which was quickly backtracked into a free dessert as compensation. The food itself was hit or miss. The mozzarella was excellent, but there was hardly any marinara. The whipped ricotta was completely overshadowed by burnt toast. The chicken Marsala was average at best, while the spicy rigatoni was the only dish that stood out. The service was consistently below average. Great service, tasty food in a very inviting atmosphere. I had the strombolie and a couple of slices of different pizzas at our table. All had worthy flavors.

I enjoyed the outdoor seating. They allow dogs on their patio. The Server Emily was fantastic and efficient. The calamari, caesar salad and chicken parm were good. I’d definitely return to try other dishes. Lay off the freezer for the cheesecake though, (it was still frozen) so I enjoyed it at home.

We sat on the patio with our pups and had the cob salad and shared an uncle Louie pizza. The food was good. However, The server didn’t tell us the Ice tea was flavored passion fruit and no warning that the pizza was very spicy to much so for our 3 yr old. One person in our party ordered the salmon BLT and she said it was good.

We had a fantastic early dinner here last night and it was truly a delightful experience. We chose to sit outside by the cozy fireplace. The service was exceptional-attentive, friendly, and timely, making us feel completely taken care of throughout the evening. The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was perfectly prepared, and we couldn’t find a single thing to complain about. Every bite was a treat, and we truly enjoyed every part of the meal. To top it all off, the restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holiday season.
