Cucina Povera

Stumbled upon Cucina Povera while staying at Four Points hotel. Tucked into the first floor of a high rise. Nicely decorated with an amazing menu of Italian cuisine. Friendly staff and our wait Venessa was attentive. If you are in the area highly recommended.

Food was delicious! We started with the whipped ricotta spread and homemade bread. Our entrées were the duck cavatelli and the beef ravioli. I'm not normally a beef ravioli person but this dish was AMAZING!! Not only did the in-house made ravioli have been inside but there was also beef tips on top. The sauce was a rich and smooth creamy sauce. The others in our party tasted mine and everyone agreed that mine was the best! Mia was our server and she was attentive and informative, professional and personable! We'll be back and we'll ask for her to be our server next time.

After living on South Beach with its tourist focused Italian restaurants I didn’t think Miami needed another Italian restaurant but I was happily wrong. This place offers so much more. The dishes remind me of what the grandmothers of my Italian friends cooked when I was a kid. And I love a place that can make quality crafted cocktails. All for very affordable prices. We’ve been back a couple of time and this place is going to be a regular. If I lived closer I would be in every week. December '25 update: We went back again just for the mushroom risotto. I had read good things. Wow! I honestly felt like I was stealing. It was so good and it only cost $18. Check out the photo. It was almost more mushroom than rice. My favorite mushroom risotto used to be from Crust. Not any more! It

The real test of a restaurant is when something goes wrong. Our (delicious) meatball appetizer was delayed, which meant our mains were delayed, and they came out cold. No problem! said the staff, and all were quickly remade or reheated. It was all excellent--and prices are very reasonable, especially amid the sometimes sky-high high restaurant prices of Coral Gables. From the time we walked in and were offered an immediate table or a booth in a few minutes, our server Mia made us feel like we were the most important thing to her. She was outstanding. Outstanding. Her colleague Leila pitched in, too, and was lovely to deal with and quite helpful. Mia not only comped us a round of wine for the inconveniences, but took off the 18% service charge as well. Not OK. Spectacular! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service from our waiter Juanma was outstanding — it truly felt like eating at a classic lifelong restaurant. The pizza dough was perfectly crispy, the mushroom risotto was out of this world, and the beef ravioli he recommended was the best dish of the night! A place to come back to again and again. 100% recommended for anyone who loves great pasta and food made with passion. 🍝🍕✨
