11.15.25 What a great surprise as we visited for the 1st time. The staff was friendly. The coffee and pastries were delicious. We had a great visit.

Dagmar's is a bakery of exceptional quality. My favorite on the shoreline. She has German specialties - the strudel is probably the best I've had in the US - but also delicious traditional "American" baked goods. I love to drop by for scones or (more accurately, AND) cookies for an afternoon snack. 😋

We took a half-day trip to Old Saybrook and decided to stop by Dagmar’s Desserts after lunch. The bread pudding (the last one available) was one of the best I’ve ever had—packed with raspberries and drizzled with chocolate ganache. The portion size was perfect for my daughter and me to satisfy our sweet cravings. It was absolutely divine!

Best Bakery in CT. Worth 45 minutes drive. Also I ordered 3 cakes for different occasions. . They did amazing job accommodating all my needs and requests. The cakes are delicious. FYI-im very picky with my food and flavors 😋.

An out-of-towner, I googled "pastries" and wound up here. I've never been more pleased with a search result. Nevermind that the croissant, strudel, danish, plum cake, lark, tort, tart, and gallete were amazing- every staff person was completely attentive to customer needs in a friendly, genuine way that made it a pleasure to shop here. The coffee was great, too- made with care and a perfect complement to the sweets. If that weren't enough, the young lady at the counter handled an ugly situation with such grace, my love for humans is restored. There is hope for us after all! Buy this food! You won't regret it.
