Dahlia Bakery is a good stop for brunch in the heart of downtown Seattle - cozy, convenient, and a solid place to grab a bite before exploring. Our brunch was enjoyable and hit the spot. The menu had a few options and everything we ordered tasted fresh and satisfying. The only downside was the vibe behind the counter… the people working there looked pretty unhappy, which took away a bit from the experience.

I ordered the turkey focaccia sandwich and it was refreshing, filling, and delicious. I really liked the texture of the focaccia. My mom ordered the strawberry mochi donut and a caramel latte and that was good as well. I would definitely come back to try the coconut pie because I was eyeing that. They also have free water on the side to take.

As you are heading north on 4th Avenue to Queen Anne from downtown Seattle you can't help pass by the Dahlia Bakery. Before 8am, there is plenty of parking for you to make a quick stop to pick up your favorites. If you haven't been there before, you may want to spend a few extra minutes to allow you to take it all in. When entering any Tom Douglass restaurant its always about the environment, and the Dahlia Bakery is not different with its wood grained exterior that welcomes you in. Along with the open bakery that you see in the back, and the display case filled with many goodies awaiting your selection, the place is also a minor retail space with books and other products that give you the opportunity to take the Tom Douglass and Dahlia Bakery experience home with you. Speaking of which,

Dahlia’s Bakery is one of those places where the line out the door is more of a promise than a warning. And yes—it absolutely delivers. The pastry case alone is reason enough to visit, from airy, crisp croissants to beautifully fresh breads that seem to disappear as quickly as they’re set out. If you’re after something heartier, the fossettes are a standout and a perfect way to kickstart the morning if you are looking for something different than a breakfast sandwich (but that have that too!). Despite the steady crowd, the setup is efficient. It’s quick counter service, with plenty of seating once you’ve ordered, including a fully stocked bar, bar seating and a TV if you are looking for a sneaky hidden spot to watch a game. Dahlia’s Bakery manages to feel bustling yet warm, polished yet

Beautiful trendy spot with pretty pastries, fantastic layered croissants, biscuits and gravy, and some other breakfast items. The croissants were amazing! Breakfast sandwich on an English muffin that you could hardly bite through and had a very strong herb flavor. Biscuits and gravy was ok, covered in unnecessary herbs. Ordered a side of bacon that they put on the sandwich by mistake. The ham cheese croissant was good but they don't warm it for you so it's still cold in the center. Over all pretty disappointing especially for the cost. Walk the extra few blocks to the market and grab some of the baked goods there.
