Dan Moo Ji Duluth

We used to come here many times when our kids were younger, and we recently stopped by again while our daughter was home from college. The place still has that classic Korean snack-bar vibe, we remembered. Since it was November, it felt a bit warm inside at first, but the friendly staff quickly turned on the AC for us, and we enjoyed a meal with the good temperature. The food tastes just as good as it always has, and honestly, it holds up really well compared to other franchise-style Korean snack spots. The prices looked a little high at first, but the portions are big, so it feels worth it. If you’re ever craving Korean street food, this is definitely a place worth visiting. Two thumbs up. 🙂

This is first time at Dan Moo Ji. My first impression is that it seems like a fast food place. But I was mistaken. You place your order at the counter, but they deliver the hot plate order. In our case, there were about 15 of us. The gentleman, came around and took our order. He brought pitcher of waters and glasses as well as soup brought. Our orders arrived fairly fast and still hot. My chicken omelette over rice is awesome, well prepared taste fantastic! My order came with mash potatoes, kimchi and salad. Others in my party also ordered Udon soup and such. The place is clean, well organized with plenty of tables. The bathrooms are cleaned which gave me the impression that it is still a new place. Again I misjudged this place. We have visited this restaurant twice so far and plan to again in the future as it has a great selection of Korean food. The grilled chicken Kimbob was great and the fried combo was a nice sampler of their deep fried foods. The waiters were attentive and didn't bother us unless we needed them after the food came out.

The kimbap at this restaurant is exceptionally delicious for its price. The generous fillings in all their kimbap varieties make it a truly delightful experience – I almost want to try every single one! By now, I have tried 5 different kimbap at this restaurant. Because the kimbap was so satisfying, I also ordered the assorted fried food. To be honest, twi-kim ("튀김" "fried items" in Korean) was just average. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly outstanding either; simply a standard fried selection. Following that, I decided to try the tteokbokki. Kimbap,twi-kim, and tteokbokki are classic Korean foods that are loved by young people, sold at steet restaurants, so I wanted to sample all three.
