The bread is delicious, but the service is 0, I was there a year ago and it was the same as today, the woman with short hair seems to hatefully let go of customers and doesn't even give a check, why don't the owners do anything with such a person? I don't advise going there

Bread is fresh and homemade, and the cashier makes it quick. Theres a grocery connected to the bakery, in which they sell a variety of stuff you can’t find in the supermarkets or delis in Brooklyn. Had no problems paying in store with apple pay. Price is great for the quality of the bread you get. Compared to the toast bread I usually buy, the homemade rye bread has better texture and flavor that is signature of a well risen dough baked inside an oven. If you’re looking for a place that is more visited by the locals, this is one of the spots. Not sure what happened to the other people posting reviews here, but I didn’t have that experience personally.

Me and my family buy the bread all the time and it is good but the Lady with the white hair is very rude and arrogant I asked her to change the gloves because she was counting money with them and touching all of the meat she gave me an attitude and said this “This is russian store“ I told the lady manager about it The manager told me if I have a problem with her I should come another day to get service by another lady I think this is very bad customer service and very unacceptable. this is America and we have rights here their customer service is horrible.

Good quality bread. Always go there for a loaf of bread in spite of being greeted by a not very friendly sales person, the one with short hair. How big was my astonishment when I realized that she can be very friendly but with MEN only. Have witnessed it with my own eyes in a line of 4 people how quickly she can switch the politeness level from 10 to -10 depending on a gender. Now that I know it I make my husband buy bread and observe her behaviour pretending to be a wandering customer. Make your own experiment and observe her acting abilities. Make sure she does not know your guy is there with you. Also beware the bread prices, she may sell the same bread 25 to 50 cents more expensive in a period of 1 day. Happened to me a number of times. I have eaten David's Bakery's Borodinsky Rye and Homemade Rye. These breads have great texture and mouth feel. They are real food, not styrofoam. I prefer the Homemade Rye as it has a heavier texture. Toasted with a little butter is a treat. I buy my David's Bakery's breads at the 46 Farmer's Market in Totowa NJ. They rarely get any Homemade Rye, so anyone at David's Bakery, please send me some Homemade Rye!!!!!
