Davidson's Family Restaurant

What a treat to find this local family restaurant with history and great food! The fried fish was delicious! The batter was perfect and I think the onion rings were battered in it too. The cowboy chicken sandwich was delicious too! The broccoli cheese soup was more like chowder and needed salt but still yummy. We were so grateful to find this gem at 8:30pm on a Friday and have great food in a really homey and comfortable local atmosphere. Loved it!

Huge portions, very quick service. The fish is phenomenal and alone makes the experience worth it. The coleslaw and tartar sauce weren't bad either. Despite being really busy, the staff continued to be kind and attentive. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in town!

Portion (s) size is very much smaller with my to go meal every time I've ordered (which is a lot) including the sides, even when doubled up! They must save the larger fish portions for in-house dining. Spent $20 on a fish fry with a few fries. I keep ordering thinking it'll be different the next time. Never again. And whomever responded, I should have taken pics and yes, I could've called everytime, but after several times. I realized this is how it's gna be. I wouldn't express concern over 1 or 2 times or take the time to write a review if this wasn't a consistent issue. You can believe me or not, the fish nor the sides, are nothing like the portion in the reviews I see on here. NOT EVEN CLOSE. To-go is not it. Enjoyed a very nice lunch here with the family. A decent variety of selections along with some daily specials available. For our party of four our bill was approx. $52 before tip. Only mild issue was I found the serving size of the daily special chipped beef over toast to be a little on the small size. But as stated it was a mild issue and did not detract from the overall positive experience. The staff was very welcoming and friendly.

This is the best place for a fish fry. My family has been coming to Davidson's for many years. When I come home to Jamestown, NY I have to get one. I would give them 5 stars for the food, but not for the waitress we had. Usually their service is excellent. This one seemed to preoccupied with other things to pay attention to us. Not common. I highly recommend you come here. You'll love it.
