Daybreak Diner

This is a Texas diner with homestyle food. Breakfast is probably our favorite, with anything from scrambled eggs to omelets and chicken fried steak and of course, good hashbrowns. If you are not a local, they'll know, so be confident and walk in like you've been there before. Generally speaking, it's seat yourself, so just like at grandma's house, gesture politely and say something about if it's okay to just be seated. You'll probably get a nod, and then you find a seat. You know the rest. When you're ready to leave, get up and head to the front and they'll help you settle the check. Don't wait for someone to bring it. We were passing by on our way to Hobbs, NM and stopped here. First time trying them out. We walked in, and since it’s a first for us, we didn’t know that you just kind of walk in and sit wherever you want. They kind of just starred at us when we walked in, and then told us to sit wherever. While eating, I noticed they have a lot of regulars, which is great, just don’t assume everyone knows to sit wherever, pay at table, etc. Anyway, I was stuck between ordering the Popper burger or the smash burger but our waitress said it would take 20min to make the smash burger so I went with the popper. My brother got the chicken tenders with home fries. We get our food, and I noticed our burger (my mom and I split the burger in half since we asked if they were big burgers and the waitress said yes) on

Food was really good perfectly cooked over medium eggs. They are located off the highway and hidden a bit. But it’s a Gem. Service was ok. The lady was very nice, but seemed to pay more Attention to the older folks/regulars. But definitely worth a try to support a local small business.

This is a place I will come back to indefinitely! Come here and enjoy a good home cooked meal tastier than anywhere. Thanks a bunch yall
